Australian Access Federation x Fynd
AAF is powering secure collaboration across Australia's research sector - delivering trusted identity, access management and digital services.

Meet the AAF
The Australian Access Federation (AAF) sits quietly at the centre of Australia’s research ecosystem - providing the authentication infrastructure that enables over 1.5 million users across universities, research institutes and government to securely access data and collaborate.
It’s not the kind of tech most people see.
But it’s absolutely the kind everything depends on.
What we did
We’ve worked closely with AAF over time - to the point where we operate as a genuine extension of their team.
We know how they work. How decisions get made. What “good” actually looks like in their environment.
That matters, because the roles themselves aren’t always straightforward.
Some are highly niche. Others sit across technical, policy and stakeholder engagement. And like many NFPs, there’s a constant balance between finding the right person and working within real-world constraints.
Rather than treating each role as a new brief, we stay close. Shaping requirements, pressure-testing expectations, and adjusting quickly as new projects and priorities come into play.
The outcome
We’ve supported AAF across a broad mix of hires, including Business Analysts, Policy Analysts, Product, Cyber Security, Project Management, Technical Support and Executive operations.
More importantly, we’ve become part of how they hire.
Supporting ongoing hiring needs and new roles created through growth, funding and project expansion - with a level of context and understanding that only comes from being deeply embedded in the business.
